Apple Park is a 64-acre campus completed in 2017 in Cupertino, California. The facility was designed by renowned architect Norman Foster of Foster and Partners over five years, with Steve Jobs and Chief Designer Jony Ive involved in every detail of the design, from the glass panels to the elevator buttons. Construction began in 2014 after the Cupertino City Council unanimously approved plans in October 2013.

The main building is a four-story circular structure with a 1,512-foot diameter, containing 2.82 million square feet across its footprint. The campus accommodates more than 13,000 employees and cost $5 billion to build. The site achieved LEED Platinum certification with 80 percent green space, including 9,000 trees of 309 native species, and generates 17 megawatts of solar power along with fuel cell systems.

Apple Park represents a massive long-term commitment to one location, making it natural to ask the reverse question about life insurance: what long-term commitment have you made? A 20- or 30-year term policy sized to a family mortgage, business loan, or income timeline is the practical counterpart to physical infrastructure built to last decades.
